After we introduced the differences between CIC and ITC in the previous blog. This time we will introduce the RIC and BTE hearing aid models and see how much they are different.

RIC (Receiver In Canal)

RIC is a hearing aid in which speakers are placed in the ear canal. This makes listening to sounds close to nature through the ear canal. The machine is small and compact. Hard to notice even though it’s behind the ear. In addition, the amplification level can be adjusted according to the speaker size chosen. To suit the user and improve the efficiency of the hearing aid.

BTE (Behind The Ear)

BTE hearing aids speakers are housed in hearing aids that are placed on top of the ear and connected directly to a plastic tube to transmit sound into the user’s ears. Listening to sound from speakers placed behind the ear (BTE) is not as natural as listening to sound from speakers placed in the ear canal.

Summary :RIC and BTE hearing aids have similar shapes. But there are differences as follows:

The location of the sound receiving device. This makes the sound heard differently by RIC hearing aids more natural

BTE amplification will have more amplification power.
